Response to First Choice Book

This summer I decided to read, Scarlet by Marissa Meyer for my choice book. I chose this book because I really enjoyed the required first book in the series, Cinder. I also enjoyed Scarlet because the author includes lots of little details that make the story more interesting. She also gives good cliff hangers at the end of chapters that make you want to keep reading. As I was reading, the story got more and more complex, which really made it different and unlike any book I had ever read. The main characters are Scarlet, Wolf, and Cinder. Scarlet could be described as full of energy and very determined. Wolf is at first shy and mysterious, but later is revealed to be very loyal and tough. Cinder has matured more since book one, but is still very confused and inexperienced. She is also determined much like Scarlet.
In Scarlet, Cinder continues to be the main character, but the reader also gets introduced to a few other important roles. Scarlet Benoit lives in Rieux, France with her grandmother on a farm. Scarlet's job is to deliver the various crops that are grown on that farm. While on her daily route, Scarlet meets the street fighter, Wolf. Although not liking each other at first, both characters eventually grow on each other. Cinder continues on her journey of learning how to use her new found gift and how to defeate the Lunar Queen, Levana. We are also introduced to Cinder's accomplice, Carswell Throne.
I really liked this book because Meyer is very good at describing the characters. Her word choice is very descriptive, and she does a great job of continuing the story. There was never any point where I was bored or didn't like the plot. You should read this book because it answers lots of the questions we were left with in book one. It also is a fairly easy read, and has an interesting and different plot. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is looking for an interesting story, and something they have never seen before.
